Anxiety Is Caused By Anxious Behavior

Anxiety is not an illness we contract, have, or get. Anxiety is something we create.

We create anxiety when we cope with life in an overly anxious manner, such as worry.

So, anxiety is created by anxious behavior.

Behavior can be defined as: the ways we think and act.

So, it’s not that we have to “cure” anxiety. We just have to stop creating it as often as we do.

Remember, everyone is anxious from time to time. This is normal. In fact, anxiety can be viewed as an important part of our survival mechanism.

Anxiety only becomes a problem when we’re regularly anxious.

Because we learned to cope with life in overly anxious ways, we can also learn to cope with life in healthy, non-anxious ways.

That’s how we overcome issues with anxiety.

So again, it’s not that we have to get rid of anxiety. We just have to learn to stop creating it as often as we do.

When we stop regularly creating anxiety, issues with anxiety and its symptoms end.

The combination of good self-help information and working with an experienced anxiety disorder therapist, coach, or counselor is the most effective way to address anxiety and its many symptoms. Until the core causes of anxiety are addressed – which we call the underlying factors of anxiety – a struggle with anxiety unwellness can return again and again. Dealing with the underlying factors of anxiety is the best way to address problematic anxiety.
