Remission from Panic Attacks (A Paradoxical Hypnotherapeutic Intervention)

A. Joseph

Abstract

The presentation is on a paradoxical hypnotherapeutic treatment used with a patient suffering from Panic Attacks that severely restricted his life in many ways. It demonstrates how the application of a paradoxical hypnotherapeutic intervention, which at first sight may appear to be a contradictory way of treating the patient, led to remission from the panic response. It uses the theoretical concepts of Groups and Logical Types as the basis of the paradoxical interventions, details the case and provides a session by session outline of the treatments used.
