If you feel suicidal or in severe distress, contact emergency services (telephone 911 or visit a hospital ER). Even though you may feel awkward requesting such services without apparent physical injury, emergency service doctors are familiar with panic disorders and related conditions and they can help you. Crisis hot lines can often be found in your telephone book or online. Do not wait for an emergency or panic attack to look up these phone numbers; write them down now (ahead of time) and keep them handy. Never feel shy about contacting crisis counselors at any time of day or night, including weekends or holidays. Contact a family member or friend! Openly discussing your concerns and options with a sympathetic person can greatly help.
